"Cold" Kitchen

I'm working in a cold kitchen...

it's void of any love... warmth... joy... laughter... happiness - (Cold)
it's stove is never on 95% of the time... air-con blasting... - (Cold)
garde manger = (Cold Kitchen)
now u get it?

usually i'd be happy to go to work...
but when working in garde manger...
it seems... i dread going to work...
40% of the time... i wake up late... O_o
and reach almost late...
seldom reach early even if i could...
the sight of the kitchen already turns me off...
open the door... enter the kitchen...
everybody's face as cold as ice...
not even a hint of joy...
they work for the sake of working...
they dun enjoy their work...
silence...
no laughter in the air...
juz plain silence...

cold...
absolutely no heat...
chiller... cold + cold...
freezer... even worse...
even our chef-u so thick...
enter the freezer... u can almost feel frost encapsulating ur body...
shut the door... and i'll give u 1 minute to faint from hypothermia...
5 minutes... and u'll get "preserved"

how can anyone work in such a horrible place... Zzz...
gimme $3000 monthly pay to work full time there i oso dun wan...
public holidaes and offs used to mean nothing to me...
this time...
how delighted i would be if i got an off...
and delighted am i... tomoro's my PH... LOL!!!
i got myself a National Dae's off... :P

World's longest lasagne trial run

Trial run todae...
reached hotel at 6:15am... Zzz...
had breakfast...
report to Jr. Ballroom Kitchen @ 6:50am...
start to bake all of the lasagnes...
separate into 3 different kitchens to bake all of the lasagnes...
5 warmers in all...
by the time we finished baking all of it...
time was 9am... -_-
to think this is only 100m...
wait till actual dae... 600m...
wat time are we supposed to start baking?
3am?... Zzz...
we can all open a room and stay overnite in the hotel liao...

so 9:10am we set off our warmers to lvl 1...
from Prego to Raffles The Plaza entrance...
dat's 100m...
for 600m... dat'll be the entire perimeter of Raffles City Shopping Center...
den at 9:45... start assembling...
for this trial run... all lasagnes are FREE!!!
whoever comes will get a piece of lasagne free...
there's a lot of leftovers though...
all ended up in the tuck shop for staff to consume...
as for the actual dae...
it'll be going at SGD$10 per piece...
all earnings will be going to charity...
to the spastic children's society... i think...

ah yes... i got the worst off i can get for next week...
MONDAE!!! Zzz...
dat's tomoro... -_- Zzz...

oh well...

Lasagne H-15 hr

Applied bechemel on them 190 lasagnes...
sprinkle grated parmesan cheese on them...
ready for tomoro's baking...
need to wake up at 6am...
Zzz...
den bake all of the lasagnes...
and serve at 10am...

tomoro is my off...
and i am going back to do the stupid lasagne...
well... it beats working in garde manger anytime...
so gotta sleep early tonite...
haha...

i flew down to work...
and miraculously... i managed to reach garde manger kitchen in time...
now dat's fast...

life in cold kitchen is pretty much the same old boring daes...
so long liao 1 week still haven end... Zzz...
1 week there seems like 2 weeks...
argh...
1st time i'm counting my daes left... -_-
3 more weeks!!! Zzz...

Nothing much happened todae...
juz dat there's an outside catering hosted by Goh Chok Tong...
but i didn't go... haha...
too bad... :P

told me to go make myself...

so off i went to rotisserie...
made myself 3 illegal pizzas...
LOL...
smuggle back and the whole garde manger had pizza for lunch... :P
