girls are really the best screamers u can find anywhere...
dat's y u'll need girls in a pop concert...
without them... nobody will be screaming at whoever's on stage...
boring ain't it?

it's an all girls school...

is singing the phantom of the opera song on stage...
and all of them screaming like mad...

Malay function

Wow... 1st time i see so many malays in a function...
it's an all malay function...
for dunno wat kids function...
got hundred over kindergarden kids wearing their graduation gowns...
and many performing on stage...
not like a school function though...
more like an organisation function...

anyway...
as usual... 1000 over pax Singaporean buffet...
i stress... SINGAPOREAN buffet...
means no matter how much food u prepare...
it's still ain't gonna be enough for the hungry pigs...
rush here and there...
aiyo...
i think all of them never eat breakfast...
hey... actually... i believe all of them never eat breakfast...
lol...
all come to buffet and eat till u drop...

k... dun tok much abt buffet...
somebody so happy she made a log cake... XD
well... i would be too... if i made juz one...
after the lunch buffet... went up to do log cakes...

it ain't fun...

furthermore... i sleep 2 hrs last night...
the more log cakes i make... the more sleepy i get...
i think i'll turn into a log soon... LOL...
they sae the hotel usually sells abt 1000 log cakes during christmas... O_o

Enchanted

Watched Enchanted after hideout and supper...

tale of a fairy tale crossed real life movie...
traditional fairy tale cartoon which carried on to the real world after a series of events...
typical fairy tale scenes and music...
wif a twist of happily ever after?

very fresh plot...
great ingenuity...
very original story line...
interestingly interesting...
this movie though cast on real life scenes...
can still be classified as a fairy tale...
therefore certain elements of fiction can be excused...

most of the movie is very much predictable though...
hardly any suspense...
buy hey!
it's a fairy tale...
fairy tales needs no suspense... LOL...

Hideout Café

K... went to hideout café to celebrate Daphne's belated bdae...
something like settlers café... but not up to standard yet...
location very ulu...
located in Bedok... blk 84... O_o
very inaccessable...

compared to settlers...
they have a major shortage of games...
they don't even have monopoly... diaoz...
very few choices of games...
staff a bit too over-friendly till he became kinda irritating to me...
yes... u r here to make ur customers feel at home...
but still... u gotta noe ur limits...
no matter how friendly u or ur customers can get...
there's always a staff vs customer barrier...
dun push ur luck too far...
the customers are always right...
so dun insist on having ur customers listen to ur every bidding...

games were boring... when he's around...
seriously...
time was much more enjoyable and merry after the cake cutting ceremony...
suddenly got relieved from an irritating bug...
but still... he irritates us...
but at least better dan when we were playing games...

the food they serve there... urgh... don't remind me...
variety: minimal
standard: minimal
to think i ordered coke from the menu...
and they tell me they no more coke... -_-

anyway... other dan the staff and the food there...
it's pretty much acceptable...
at least we enjoyed the cake cutting ceremony rite?

Beowulf

Watched Beowulf b4 work todae...
i didn't noe it was a computer animated show in the 1st place...
i tot it was something like Lord of the Rings or something similar...
den the movie started...
something felt amiss...
the graphics look a bit fake...
a bit stiff...
it's only then i realised it's a computer animated movie...
and it was then i was amazed...
WOW...
i didn't knew computer graphics could become so real...
evolution of technology...
i was impressed...
they could actually make a replica of Angelina Jolie as a computer animated being and look so real...
almost exactly similar to the real Angelina Jolie...

k... enough of the graphics...
rating for graphics... 4.5/5
ya... i noe it's considered very good graphics...
and one of the best u can find around...
but still some movements are stiff and pretty obvious it's animated...
but still... excellent graphics... :)
very good details...
can fight wif Ratatouille...
but i still like Ratatouille more... :P

plot... not very good though...
very straightforward...
like cinematic graphics of games...
no twist... little suspense...
ending a bit lame...
doesn't make any sense...
i wouldn't classify this as a cartoon...
i treat it as a normal movie...
only done in computer animation...
so negligence in facts and details cannot be tolerated...

if u wanna watch this movie for computer graphics... this is an excellent movie...
however... if u watch this hoping for a good story... den give it a miss...
wat makes this movie so worth watching is because of the graphics...
and it's only computer animation dat can make certain elements of scenes never able to see in any other type of movie be shown on screen...
so... if this movie was made without aid of computers...
and using old fashioned acting...
it's a crap movie...

i would recommend others to watch Beowulf...

i saw a gigantic slab of meat in the combi-oven next to mine...
ya... it's not big...
and neither is it huge...
it is... G-I-G-A-N-T-I-C...

it's almost ½ the size of the combi-oven... O_o
looks like some leg or wat...
but it's humongously gigantic lah...

13th ASEAN Summit Gala Dinner

Yep... as wat i've said yesterdae...
security VERY tight...
early in the morning go to work...
barricades already set up all round the perimeter of the hotel...
y security so tight?
no... not coz Stephanie Sun is coming...
but ministers from ASEAN countries are coming for this dinner...
even some ministers from other countries like Canada are coming...
Lee Hsien Long and Goh Chok Tong are coming too...
so scared got terrorists...
scared of assinations... etc etc...
if terrorist really did manage to bomb us...
well... it's hitting a lot of birds wif juz one stone...

usually high security event only consists of a few policemen guarding ballroom entrances...
and metal detectors in the corridors leading to the ballroom...
these are a usual sight...
seen quite a few such high security events...
but this time... it's not juz dat...
IT'S BIGGER!!!
i think they deployed ½ of the police force to this event... -_-
from the usual metal detectors only...
to metal detectors AND X-Ray scanners to scan all bags into the ballroom...
on patrol policemen carry portable metal detectors too...

gunmen all around the perimeter...
those wearing cowboy hats
and holding rifles dat look like a shotgun...
wait... or IS it a shotgun?
if i'm a terrorist... i wun even dare to step near the hotel... -_-

but however tight the security they provide...
there are still bound to be loopholes...
no outsider noes our hotel as well as we ourselves do...
those without a pass... (i'll get to the pass later)
will not be allowed to enter the areas near the ballroom...
and any access leading to the ballroom...
our hotel is big...
too many secret entrances...
so... how do u expect us to return to our kitchens without a pass?
lol... there is a secluded door leading to our kitchen (which will also lead to the ballroom) unguarded at all... lol... :P
policemen guarding almost every entrance/exits to and from the ballroom...
even juz outside the door of our kitchen got 3 policemen sitting there... Zzz...

overheard something funny while passing by a policewoman...
she was on the phone...
said to the other party on the phone...
"i scared later i cannot find my way out..."
LOL!!!
i was thinking... wat if terrorist come run here run there?
den all the police horlanz... XD

ok... anyway... working halfway...
we gotta go back to the security room to get our pass...
need to give our details...
name and IC no...
the WHOLE hotel needs to give their details...
imagine how many staff we have... O_o
imagine the queue...
aiyo...
crazyness...
but only ppl involved in the event will be able to get a pass...
which wasn't ready then... so we couldn't go back to the kitchen...
waited and waited... in the end...
we tried the "secret route" back to the kitchen... LOL...

btw...
saw the stage while on my way to work todae...
took a couple of pictures of it...
dat's also when i took the picture of the X-ray machines and the metal detectors...
so dat explains y it's so empty and unguarded...
coz it's early in the morning...

The Stage

Some of the people rehearsing for the function...

usually for a 1000 pax western banquet functions...
we only need abt 6-8 dishing out stations...
at most 10...
so each station will be dishing out around 100-150 plates...
but for this top VVVIP function...
we set up 20 dishing out stations... O_o
for only 380 pax...
they wan the food to be dished out fast and hot...
hired 200 part-time servers... O_o
means each server serves 1-2 plates
from the usual 1 server to 1 or 2 tables...
or at most 2 servers to 1 table...

din get to see Stephanie Sun todae...
coz i working morning shift...
OT till 6pm... chef tell me go home...
i wanted to ask... can i stay and help out...
but somehow... nothing came out...
reluctant... but my legs started walking further and further away...
oh well...
let's wait for the 14th ASEAN Summit... LOL!!!

top VVVIP... so everything must be of highest and best quality...
yesterdae... wiped 400 pieces of 4cm by 3cm banana leaf...

i ask them y dun wipe 1st den cut into small pieces?
they told me after cut liao den wipe cleaner... O_o
ARGH!!!
took me freaking 1 hr to finish cutting and wiping... Zzz...
finally finished wiping 400 pieces...
tot i could go home then...
but was asked to help another guy wipe banana leaves...
this time... 20 by 10 cm... another 400 pieces!!!
i almost fainted... Zzz...
please leh... wipe 1st den cut faster leh...
regarding cleanliness...
i feel it's the same loh... regardless wiping 1st or cutting 1st... -_-
