1st dae in Le Papillon

Ya... regarding the Bangkok trip...
i'll wait till Eugene finish blogging his part b4 i'll start adding in details he missed out...
so for the moment...
i'll not be mentioning anything abt the Bangkok trip...

went for work in Le Papillon todae...
1st dae...
all seems well...
a bit boring though...
or maybe it's juz todae...
coz dinner only 4 pax... O_o
maybe it's the rain... LOL...
but well...
we'll see again tomoro...
maybe more customers tomoro...

not bad for a restaurant...
they provide uniforms for us...
and they send to laundry...
no need us to wash ourselves...

kitchen kinda small though...
was told we might be rotating between stations...
gardemanger > mise-en-plus > hot > patisserie
so we shall see...
argh... need to go for my typhoid jab soon...

Le Grand Chef

Lots of things to settle once i touched down...
settled some but many more un-settled...
went to Sim Lim Square wif CK to get myself a 120GB External Hard Disk
costed me $169... O_o
i needed it to back-up my com...
gonna re-format it soon... i guess...

after dat...
we went to PS to watch Le Grand Chef...
quite a nice movie i'd sae...
and no... not becoz of the cooking...
it has a nice story...
though i'd understand it more if it was in English...
but still... this Korean movie is very touching...
funny to a certain extent...
it makes ppl cry...
it makes ppl laugh...
if you are expecting Ratatouille out of this due to the cooking and food...
u'd be real sad...
it's juz about the story of a young man's history and a cooking competition...

Back from Bangkok, Thailand!!!

Been 5 daes of Bangkoking...
suddenly sitting in front of my com...
i miss home... XD
everything juz pass by so quickly...
2 more daes and i'll be starting work...
internet was down the dae b4 i went to Bangkok...
so didn't really blog much...
now seems alright to me... maybe for only a short while?

anyway... regarding details of the Bangkok trip...

Alien Vs Predator 2

Went back to sch to hand in log book todae...
together wif CK... Eugene... KM... Wayne... and some of the B class Meritus ppl...
ate at the coffee shop near our sch...
missed the sour plum and lime juice...
chatted wif Sebastian for a while todae at the "container"
b4 going up to hand in our log books...
thought it would be a fast task...
juz give them the book and off we go...
but noooooooo...
we need to fill up all the info from the log book for them... Zzz...
so took quite a while...
chit chat awhile... den went town to meet up wif the pastry ppl...

while waiting for a couple of pastry ppl...
we had a little snack at Coffee and Toast at City Link...
ordered a kaya goo yoo toast...
and mmmmmmmmm...
it was heavenly...
i think better dan ya kun's
toast was crispy...
kaya was fragrant... and sweetness just right...
though it's a bit greyish in colour...
but i think it's homemade...
so there are no colourings added... :)
added wif a slice of butter...
it makes me drool thinking back of it now...
9/10 - must try...

went Marina Square to watch AVP2...
not as great as it's 1st movie though...
is it dat all part 1s are always the best?
at least AVP1 has some decent story...
AVP2 is juz mindless killing and rampage...
blood and gore...
nothing much else...
plot was a bit stupid...
juz blast here blast there...
kill this kill that...
den BOOM!
everything is nothingness...
Zzz...
i was expecting much more dan this...
graphics was nice though...

yes... and after movie...
went to Marina Food Loft for dinner...
seriously...
i think food courts are the last place i'll ever go eat from now on...
coz it really sucks...
i think coffee shops and hawker centers serve better food...
and cheaper too... -_-
ordered a ginger powder fried chicken...
$7.50 for 2 pieces...
comes choice of 2 sides...
i chose coleslaw and macaroni...
good thing is... they serve their sides in quite big portions...
not like some western stalls... give u 1 tbsp of coleslaw... -_-
BUT!!!
the bad thing is... it taste sucky...
so no point giving so much...

coleslaw... vegetable never drain dry enough...
mayo too little... cut too fine...
feel like eating mashed veges...
wet and tasteless...

macaroni...too much rosemary used...
they are mini macaronies...
so imagine 2 - 3 dried rosemary is sticking onto EACH macaroni...
dat's how much rosemary they use...
furthermore...
macaroni left in the bain marie for too long...
all dried and shrivelled up...
FAIL!

the chicken still acceptable...
but dun set ur hopes too high...
very small piece oso...
sides so much more bigger dan the main item itself... Zzz...
seriously... do not try it...
i'd rather have KFC...
cheaper and bigger in portion...

Ya... quite a while never blog liao...
lazy weekend this week...
tomoro will be going back sch to hand in log book wif the Meritus gang...
and speaking of log book...
everything is filled up...
except...
the final page... which is the visits from SHATEC trainers...
zero... ZERO... Zzz...
nobody came visiting us for the whole of our 9 mth attachment... -_-
so sad...
sch dun bother abt us anymore...
wat if we were ill treated by the hotel?
wat if we kena accident in the hotel?
wat if we DIED in the hotel?
the sch wouldn't even noe... Zzz...

when will we get our diploma?
wat will our plans be from here on?
maybe i go study DPB... LOL!!! XD
but come to think of it...
wif new trainers in SHATEC...

actually... there's something good abt this hotel...
is dat... there is this cab booking system...
whereby u book a cab in the gurad room...
and write down the time u r supposed to work...
den the next morning...
the cab will come pick u up...
and when u reach the hotel...
u dun have to pay a single cent... LOL!!!
better dan u find ur own cab to the hotel...
den using the reciept to claim for ur cab fees later...
so ma fan...
