The House

Was slacking at home todae until abt 3pm or so...
Alan called... asked me out together wif the Swissôtel pastry gang...
so long never see them... and i'm free... so... y not?

caught a movie wif them this evening...
a Thai horror movie... The House...
Thai movies are well known for their scary ghost movies...
and this one... is no exception...
wat is in a movie dat actually scares the audience?
apart from the horrifying graphics...
the no. 1 factor in scaring the audience is non other dan the sound effects and loud sudden audio itself...
be it screams or just plain noise...
and it's dat suspense or anticipation dat the movie gives the audience; the parts where u noe something will come out... but yet didn't... and then suddenly pops out together wif a loud BOOM...

so the movie...
scary?
definately...
it scared the wits out of 2 of our pastry guys...
ironically... they are 2 of the "manly" looking guys in the bunch...
big guys... small wits? hmmmmmm......
girls were more brave though...
though there were those sudden jumps due to the booms...
it's the guys who cover their eyes wif hands...
wif shawls and hiding behind gfs... (rolls eyes...)

a so-so movie to me though...
story not exactly very detailed...
maybe becoz of the language barrier?
mid-way through the movie... there was this part which set me pondering...
y on earth would someone put a wooden pillar in the middle of the corridor of ur house?
but it was later on explained late in the movie...

so on an overall scale...
i'd sae... it'd score 3/5

For the 1st time in my life...
i actually see a restaurant (other dan Rosette) have 0 covers... O_o
where have all the ppl gone to?
even the pubs outside are like ghost towns...
not a single soul in sight...
so sian... whole dae sit in kitchen and tok cock... LOL!!!

after work... went to Chinatown...
and somehow... i got this feeling...
EVERYBODY went to Chinatown for their CNY shopping...
dat explains the emptiness... LOL!!!

The Butterfly Restaurant

Papillon means butterfly in french...
how i noe?
coz everytime i see the word papillon anywhere...
i'd usually see a butterfly together wif it...

anyway...
Le Papillon is a very small restaurant...
so small dat we can't order in bulk from suppliers...
other dan meat items like Angus... lamb rack... pork rack... salmon... etc...
those small vegetable items...
are usually bought by ourselves...
usually b4 work in the morning...
but sometimes when during midday we suddenly run out of certain items...
we gotta go to the nearby supermarket for shopping...
quite often in fact...
i think they should get an NTUC card... LOL!!!

Cloverfield

Went wif CK to CGH to visit Sacha todae...
i believe she looks so much better dan i expect...
or should i sae... from wat the rest commented...
recovering fast...
strong girl... :)

considered lucky for her...
from the details of the accident which was given from her mom...
it's a miracle she got out of this... though suffered some injuries...
when we were there... she was sleeping...
i guess she was much more to heavily sedated dan sleeping... XD
she looks sweet when she's sleeping though... :P

after hospital visit...
went to Tampines Mall to settle CK's sim card thingy...
and went for a movie...
from the trailers of Cloverfield...
i knew it's taken from a handheld video camera dan a professional camera...
i thought it was maybe the introduction...
but nooooooo......
it continued on and on...
and on and on......
and on.....
and on...........
and on........................
Zzz...
right till the end...

if u see a lot of ppl commenting "HUH?!" "WTF?" "dat's all?" "what's this?"
u noe there's something REAL wrong abt the movie...
usually when the credits roll...
everybody or should i sae... most of the ppl would stand up and leave the theatre...
including me...
but for this particular movie...
no one stood up...
NO ONE...
guess everybody was dumbfounded...
well... for me...
i sat there...
staring at the screen...
hoping...
hoping there's something else...
i was expecting more...
i's a crappy 1 hr movie...
did it make it past the 60 min mark?

ok... official comments...
story... it's quite ok actually...
though a lot of parts are really unexplained...
i hate the starting though...
it's full of crap...

a lot of time wasters in the whole movie itself...
a lot of stupid scenes...
dragging to make the movie longer...

graphics was nice actually...
in the sense of taking in a handheld video cam view
looks kinda realistic...
camera angles very similar to like a normal person would use their camera...
added a bit of unprofessionalism to make it more "real"
but one thing they didn't note...
looking at this movie in small view looks normal...
when when enlarged to theatre sized screen... it ain't normal...
u get crossed eyes and fainting spells from watching it in such big scales...

room for improvements...
cut short the start...
make the "homemade" video shorter...
add in the aftermath of the entire event using a better camera (stabilised)... or any other kind other dan handheld... Zzz...
that's mainly the reason y i sat there staring at the credits...
hoping for something more...
i couldn't believe my eyes when i saw the credits... -_-

i would have given it a higher rating...
but after i commented...
i changed my mind...
1.5/5 - give it a miss... seriously...

ppl sae it's a cheap movie if they filmed using handheld video cameras...
but this movie ain't cheap...
judging from the props and effect of the movie...
but it sure is a crappy movie...

Internal Conflicts

2 sous chefs in conflict todae...
ain't them childish?
50+ yrs old liao still think like babies... Zzz...
both sous chefs... a younger one and another older one...
the older one is working his last dae in the restaurant todae...
so i'll name him "L" for last dae... XD
the other... let's juz call him "A"

so... it's L's last dae todae...
maybe that's y he brought up such unplesant comments...
well... these 2 ain't exactly happy wif one another...
always complaining about each other...
saying bad things abt each other...
so...
L : "i'll tell boss i dun like the person working beside him..."
L : "it's not i dun like boss... but i juz dun like working wif the person beside him"
but "A" kept quiet all the while...
and "L" kept continuing on and on...
repeating over and over again...
telling everybody...
until abt 5pm... "A" asked me...
A : "how long do u think i can tahan?"
me : "one dae... one dae will do..."
but in the end... "A" called boss and told him he'll be taking ½ dae off...
Zzz...
so left us 3 in the kitchen...

so crap lah...
i believe i think better dan all of them... -_-

Slightly more busier dan yesterdae...
but still kinda boring...
KM joining me on Mondae...

anyway... went supper at Lau Pa Sat wif some of the restaurant ppl tonite...
a pastry guy... a cook... and a service girl...
it's her last dae of work tomoro...
so we went for supper loh...
and chatting wif her...
she sure brings a whole new meaning to the word blur...
seriously...
i noe girls are quite weak in geography...
but i never thought it would come to this extent... O_o

she asked where i lived...
