A Little Story...

Suddenly thought of a little story...
thought i would share...

*Lights up a lavender aroma therapy incense stick...
(well... it beats using stinky ol' old fashioned joss sticks... agree?)

20 cents each please... :)
ok... no times' a wastin... time is burning short...

so my story begins... ahem...

Long long time ago... in the southern province of China...
there lived a girl... jennifer...
she fell in love with a pauper...
his name was william...
he was so poor he could hardly make ends meet...
he couldn't even support himself... let alone jennifer...
but nevertheless... she loved him deeply...

her parents knew abt their relationship...
and as normal parents would do to wish for their daughter would be in good hands...
rejected their relationship...
but a stubborn her and her deep love sustained their loving times together...

one day... her parents brought jennifer to a local fortune teller...
rumored to be very accurate and have never fortold a flase prediction before...
the aged worn man looked at her and requested for her palm...
he shook his head and told them this...
"Your daughter... would live a live of hardship and poverty..."

having had their daughters' fortune told...
made them persistant not to allow her to be with william...
they tried every means to break them up... but to no avail...

time and time had passed...
the bindings of love had weakened...
the power of wealth started to cloud her eyes... her judgement...
many prospective suitors had asked for her hand...
jennifer... started to think...
what if the fortune teller was right?
would she be able to endure all the hardships with william?

and along came bryan...
handsome... charming...
only son of a wealthy and powerful family...
almost the perfect guy for any girl...
he came... and asked for her hand...

thinking bryan is... in every way... better than william...
she left him...
heartbroken... william couldn't do anything...
it was... her choice...

a happy marriage she had...
and delighted... were her parents... no doubt...
their daughter was finally in good hands...

years passed... and bryan started to have many problems with his business...
whatever he did... had lost money...
their world had started to collaspe...
fame... power and wealth... were all but naught within weeks...
bryan had gone bankrupt after all business setbacks...

whereas on the other hand...
william worked hard... and slowly earned his mark...
a stable imcome... he climbed...
ventured... and prospered...
it was no time soon he become one of the richest man in his village...

looking at him from a far... she regretted...

what is the moral of the story?

what you see now... may not be what you'll get in future...
what naught you have now... doesn't mean you won't get it in future...
fame... power and wealth are but material possessions...
true love never dies...
you may lose everything... but you'll always know... love is still there...

*The last glow had faded... leaving a trail of smoke... and lavender filled the air...

thank you for your 20 cents... :)

I guess I'm too late... I missed my train...
